Con-trak (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides a field operations platform for construction teams worldwide. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over your data. By using Con-trak you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the service:

• Account data: Name, email address, password (stored securely), company name, and profile details you provide when registering.
• Project data: Project names, locations, budgets, milestones, expense records, labour logs, material logs, daily updates, photos, and related files you create within the platform.
• Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, feature usage, and timestamps — collected automatically to operate and improve the service.
• Communications: Messages you send to our support team.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Con-trak platform.
• Process transactions and send related invoices and receipts.
• Send operational emails such as password resets and account notifications.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Analyse usage patterns to improve features (using aggregated, anonymised data).
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties or use it to serve advertising.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure, enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We maintain robust access controls, audit logging, and regular security reviews to protect your information.

Your project data is private to your organisation. Team members you invite can access only the projects and data you grant them access to.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer (e.g. financial records for tax purposes, up to 7 years in certain jurisdictions).

5. Third-Party Services

We engage a limited number of trusted infrastructure and service providers to operate the platform. All sub-processors are contractually bound to handle your data in accordance with this policy and applicable data protection law. A current list of sub-processors is available upon request.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — specifically a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying signed in.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your project data in a machine-readable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. International Transfers

Con-trak is used by teams in 30+ countries. Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms — to protect cross-border transfers.

9. Children

Con-trak is a professional business tool intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice in the application at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
